Over Speeding Up And Video Driver

The signs of over speeding up

The basic signs of over speeding up (overheat) of memory of a video card are the artifacts appearing on the screen of the monitor in an operating time of 3D-appendices (at a strong over speeding their occurrence is possible even in a 2D-mode): “the beaten out” sites of the image, absence of structures, strips and other anomalies which do not arise on standard frequencies. Image lag is a sign of over speeding (overheat) of a graphic kernel of a video card. If you have faced over speeding , it is necessary to undertake the following:

• To lower frequency of the over speeded up component to that frequency when the video card can work stably.

• If you in any way it did not improve standard system of cooling, it is necessary to modernize it: to establish radiators for memory, to add the additional fan. Reduction of temperature of a kernel and memory and, probably, increase of a threshold of over speeding up will be a consequence of it.

• To make the volt mode of the kernel and-or memories if it, of course, it is worthy of it. Minuses are: a high probability of loss of a guarantee, difficulty of performance, kernel and memory rise in temperature. Pluses are: the substantial increase of a threshold of admissible frequencies.

The unblocking of the video driver

Almost all new models of video cards have protection against change of frequencies by the user. In most cases such protection exists only at video driver level, but there are precedents when the manufacturer blocks change of frequencies at level BIOS of a video card then stitch version BIOS from other manufacturer which has no such protection. But, as I have already told, such cases are rare, therefore we will consider a method of disposal of protection in the video driver. For this purpose we need the pure distribution kit of the video driver for video cards NVIDIA or ATI — Detonator/Force Ware or Catalyst accordingly — and fresh version of Riva Tuner (where can we go without it ). We unpack the driver (but we do not install it!) if it was in the archive.

We find in a root directory Riva Tuner folder Patch-Scripts, we come into it — two more folders are located there: ATI and NVIDIA, — and depending on your video card we come into the necessary. For video cards ATI we go to a folder about ATI/ATI Over clocking Anti protection and looking what OS is installed we choose the necessary script. We click it, in the appeared window we press Continue, we specify a way to prepared distribution kit Ca-talyst and patchy file ati2mtag.sys or ati2mtag.sy_ depending on expansion of the file located in the distribution kit. For video cards NVIDIA the script is about NVIDIA/Detonator FX Antiprotector (to Detonator 45.xx) or Force Ware Antiprotector (from Force Ware 53.03 and above), also we choose a script dependent on the version of OS, and patchy. Possibility of change of frequencies in Riva Tuner becomes a result of the above-stated actions.

Your computer can get into serious troubles if you do not pay attention to the regular update of the drivers. And this is where driver updater can save you much time.
